Service Agreement

Work is hereby ordered as described above. Fees for services are not cancellable nor are they refundable once work begins. The Eternal Optimist Résumé Service is not responsible for errors in materials submitted by the client. (Be sure to keep a copy of this form and the materials you send.)

Services include consultation following your submittal of information for the résumé (and additional services you order), preparation of a draft, and a final product based on your response to the draft.

Postal Mail:  If you choose to send and/or receive materials by postal mail, remember that each exchange will normally require 5-7 business days' transit time in the mail.

Revisions: If you request more revisions or identify more errors after the final draft is completed and sent to you, this will be treated as additional custom work. Additional work will be charged at the rate of sixty-five (65) U.S. dollars per hour (US$10 minimum charge).

Electronic Files and Disk files:  The Eternal Optimist Résumé Service provides files in several formats to have the best chance of having your computer and printer accurately reproduce the résumé we produce. Unfortunately, the proliferation of different versions of software and operating systems makes it impossible to guarantee that documents will retain all their original formatting features on your software and printer. We also cannot provide technical support on document formatting.  PDF files are included to provide the greatest consistency across systems and software for the final draft we produce (which is what the PDF format was designed for).  Nevertheless, even PDF files do not guarantee identical formatting nor printing, nor can they be readily edited without Adobe Acrobat.

Liability:  The Eternal Optimist Résumé Service can only accept liability which is limited to completion of the work you order and based on the information you provide.

Résumé Style:  Note that your résumés will be U.S. style, which differs from the style and content of résumés and curricula vitae elsewhere.

Payment and Refund Policies:  We accept payment by Paypal™ or check with your order.  Fees are not refundable once work on the project has begun; we consider the project to begin when we receive the initial materials for the résumé and your payment.

Other:  You agree to pay the maximum charges permitted by Minnesota state law on any returned checks or charges, plus any collection costs, including legal fees.

We will consider your acceptance of a draft by e-mail to be authorization to complete the work as shown on the draft, with revisions as specified in the e-mail.
